Foon Sham sculpture featured in The Washington Post

Foon Sham’s sculpture ‘Chapel Oak Vessel’ is currently on display at the Arlington Arts Center for their 40th anniversary exhibition, “CSA: Forty Years of Community-Sourced Art.” Foon and four other established artists with existing ties to the AAC were invited to exhibit. Then, these five artists each chose an emerging artist to exhibit alongside. Foon chose his former graduate student at the University of Maryland, Dana Winkler. Both Foon and Winkler’s sculptures can be seen on the outdoor grounds of the AAC.

Ellington Robinson reviewed in The Washington Post

Washington Post logo

In his December 6 review, Washington Post arts writer Mark Jenkins noted, “The show’s centerpiece is Oath of the Imperialists, which features not only some of Robinson’s most inspired repurposing, but also most pointed commentary. Constructed from a tabletop with a missing center leaf, the piece is impaled by the sort of knives used to carve up other people’s lands.”

Since the heyday of Modernism, the relationship between art and design has been constantly responding to the other. Project 4’s art consulting service, ART Space, works with design professionals to emphasize these trends. While promoting a dynamic and forward-thinking exhibition schedule in the gallery, a strong connection is held to the like-minded design world through this service and through the collaborative relationships that develop with it. This exhibition and accompanying lecture provide insight into the inspirations and ideas behind ART + Space.

Aqua Hotel Fair Art Basel Miami

Miami is a town that is rich in both nature and artifice. From the lush foliage to the Botox parties, it could be described as a place where these contrasting environmental elements coalesce and coevolve. The exhibition proposed for Aqua Art Miami draws from this aesthetic experience using works that combine what is manufactured or staged with what is natural and spontaneous.

Focusing on sculpture, photography and painting the gallery will exhibit a selection of artists addressing this topic in some aspect of their work and whose talents necessitate an introduction to a larger international contemporary art market.
